A primer on slide design & formatting, optional use of multimedia and available crowd interactions.
So you are presenting on HiveFest? Great!
Your presentation will be live attended by the HiveFest crowd and livestreamed as well. It is best to prepare well, so you are comfortable telling your story and keeping time!
Please read through this article to learn more about the options available to you.
Presentations last 20 minutes tops including questions (unless otherwise discussed upfront).
Using Slides in your presentation? (Recommended!)
Slides can perfectly support your spoken word and strengthen your message. It's encouraged to have supporting slides to your talk.
- Use 16:9 widescreen format (!)
- Less = more: No fine grained details or big lists of bullet points! Couple of words or just an image works best.
- You can use multiple formats for your presentation:
- Slides.com or Google Slides for final presentation "hosting" and have your presentation both published and publicly viewable: And share with hivefest@gmail.com
- Keynote
- Powerpoint
- We will have a mac mini on site, which will be shared with you, with a clicker. There is a preview screen.
- We need your presentation in advance: upload it here (or share the url from slides/gslides):
https://forms.gle/Hq92EWTs4WC298rCA - Have fancy fonts in your presentation? Share the font files too!
